is there anything that describes the taste of summer more than strawberries? well definitely not for me! I love them in every shape and possible way to eat them – last weekend I tried to make a Strawberry Tiramisu – and succeeded ❤
what you need:
4 egg yolks
6 tbsp sugar
4 egg white, whisked stiff
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla sugar
200g hazelnut macaroons (cookies)
whisk the egg yolks (make sure they’re fresh) with the sugar until light and fluffy. stir in the mascarpone and carefully mix in the stiff egg whites.
for the strawberry purree slice strawberries, give sugar and vanilla sugar in and let it sit for about 5 mins. purée everything – if you like you could add Grappa or some other Liquer.
line the hazelnut macaroons evenly in the tray and press them gently so there is no gap inbetween them. traditionally Tiramisu is made with ladyfingers, but as I don’t like them I used these (kind of) macaroons. (If you use ladyfingers soak them in the strawberry purree before.) spread the egg/mascarpone batter evenly on the macaroons, layer the cut strawberries and the purree on top of it and cover it with batter again. I decorated the Tiramisu only with strawberries – you could add some cocoa powder, hazelnuts or whatever you like!
keep it in the fridge for at least 4 hours then ENJOY ❤
this shouldn’t be a problem because it’s so delicious, but make sure to eat it within 2 days because of the raw eggs in it.
I really loved the result of my first ever Strawberry Tiramisu and I’m definitely gonna make it again this summer!
