July Favourites

mamma mia – here we go again! lately I’ve been in the cinema to watch Mamma Mia and I really liked it. but ever since then I can’t get these songs, especially Mamma Mia, out of my head! anyway – here we go again with the monthly favourites (and while I’m writing this, I’m listenting to the soundtrack of Mamma Mia – obviously).

I really liked this photo because it shows how happy I am when it’s warm and sunny.        therefore I  wanted to post it anyway, even though it’s a bit blurry.

this post is mainly about beauty products but – first things first – let me start with something food related. recently I’ve been enjoying to watch baking videos and I wanted to share my most loved YouTube channels for this: Preppy Kitchen, Cupcake Jemma and Katie Pix. They’re absolutely great in very different ways and styles – but I love all of them. it’s definitely worth to subscribe – they share amazing recipes and tips for baking and cooking quite frequently.

moving to beauty… there have been a LOT of products I recently loved. let me show you some of them:

the „pretty in the USA-Palette“ from benefit is just amazing! the hoola bronzer has the perfect colour to get that bronzed summer look, the rockateur blush is very lovely to give you the most beautiful shimmer on your cheeks and the dandelion twinkle highlighter is super soft and nice.

the palette even comes with the goof proof brow pencil which I’ve always loved. the powders are all full-sized and the mirror has a perfect size aswell.

IMG_9797 neu

fashion wise I find it quite easy in summer: I just put a dress, sunnies and some cute sandals or flip-flops on and that is basically it. my favourite dress this year is definitely this midi linen dress from Pull & Bear. it comes in a good variety of colours – I wanted to catch’em all – and I did.

the one I wear in the photos comes in a beautiful kind of orange colour with brown buttons. it fits perfectly and feels so light and comfy. I topped it off with my Zara hairband (similar one) in these lovely summer colours, the most beautiful Zara sunnies (similar ones) and some simple flip-flops from our Bali honeymoon.

this one I just recently discovered… it’s the Nivea dry shampoo! it’s easy to use, smells delicious and works SO GOOD! this is one of the first dry shampoos that really worked for me. my hair looks absolutely great after the use of this! it comes in three different types for light, medium and dark hair. everyone smells different but work the same.

another beauty-favourite definitely is the BACKTALK palette from Urban Decay. I’m a big fan of Urban Decay, always was and always will be. the eyeshadows are nicely pigmented as always and have the most flattering colours. you can use them for a simple day look or go darker and use them for a beautiful night-out make up.

the blushes and highlighters are stunning! in summer I especially love the peachy highlighter (low key) because with a peachy lip it gives you a cute natural look.

there are SO MANY other brands and products I really liked lately – but I’m gonna show you more next month. do you want me to show you a full face make-up?

let me know – I’d love to hear from you ❤

healthy summer make-up ¦ Daylong

in summer I tend to use less make-up than in other seasons. I feel like when you’ve got a tan your skin looks healthier and just doesn’t need a lot to look good. so I was very happy when a few weeks ago Daylong came in contact with me and wanted me to test their new face fluids with SPF +50.

my skin is >very< sensitive in the sun, so I always used a moisturizer with SPF 30 or even better 50 to be sure not to get sunburnt. the BB cream from Daylong is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. it gives you the protection you need and feels very light but still gives you a bit of a coverage.

personally I don’t really like the smell of it but as I set it with the Gerda Spillmann powder that smells incredibly good (blogpost about this product coming soon) I don’t really mind this. after applying my Collection concealer I set it with the powder because I feel quite a bit shiny after using the face fluid – but with the powder it’s perfectly fine and lasts the whole day long.

I love to just bronze my face with my Benefit Hoola Bronzer whereever the sun would naturally touch me. this is the only product I use more in summer than I do in winter times. after bronzing my face I only use a tiny bit of blush and highlighter > at the moment I -really- enjoy the Urban Decay Backtalk palette, it gives me the nicest peachy glow and I blimin love peachy tones in summer.

put on some mascara and a nude lip shade and you’re done! to be honest mascarawise I’m in a bit of a struggle at the moment. because I can’t really find one that I like 100%. I do like the Benefit „they’re real“ and the Maybelline „total temptation“ but they’re just not exactly what I’m looking for. I ordered a variety of different ones just when I wrote this blogpost so maybe I’m gonna write about them soon.

Products I used for this look:
Daylong Face Fluid https://bit.ly/2zxhpev
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (I use it in the shade Fair 1 under my eyes and in the shade Cool Medium for any spots or blemishes) https://bit.ly/2udpEt3
Gerda Spillmann Powder https://bit.ly/2uiaL6I
Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer https://bit.ly/1ZFCJ2g
Urban Decay Backtalk Palette https://bit.ly/2L6bIbR
Real Techniques Brushes https://realtechniques.com/
L’Oréal Color Riche Lipstick in the colour silk 231 https://bit.ly/2mdhSsG
Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara https://bit.ly/2zDTMRI

what is your favourite summer look? I’d love to hear from you ❤

wedding impressions ¦ may the fourth

I have something to admit: I am football obsessed! and as the worldcup is taking place right now and I work in an architectures office Monday to Friday AND wanna watch every single match, time is flying by and I’m trying hard to write my blogposts and upload them on time. so in this blogpost you’ll find quite a lot of photos and a little less text than usual…

as a lot of you asked for more wedding photos I thought it would be a good time now to show you some impressions from our wedding day; 05/04/2018.

we were so lucky with the weather – it chucked it down with rain the days before the wedding, so I was quite worried about OUR day… the wedding reception was planned to be outside in the inner ward close to the church and I wanted to take photos of us in there aswell – so it took a load off my mind when I saw the sun rising on our weddingday.

thank you to all of our family and friends who made this day so special: we enjoyed an absolutely amazing day, ate the most delicious italian food ever, drank delightful wine and danced to the most beautiful songs.

wedding skin routine ¦ lavera

I may have mentioned it a few times (or in almost every single blogpost)… I got married on may the fourth this year. it was truly a wonderful day and I couldn’t wait to finally show you guys some photos and share my wedding skin routine with you.

a couple of months ago the company Laverana (brand Lavera) came in touch with me to announce their new product range: anti pollution. as it was a few weeks until my wedding I was a little bit sceptical to try out something new for my skin – because I wanted it to look perfect on this day!

the company Laverana can be described in just a few words: made in Germany, in the Hanover region, certified natural cosmetics are produced in a closed value-added competence chain. Production is carried out preserving natural resources, with respect for human beings and nature. Long story short: after reading their website it didn’t take long to convice me about using these natural products as my wedding skin products.

good thing I tried it – my skin was absolutely fantastic on my wedding day.
for a fresh and radiant complexion I used the hydro effect cleansing balm in the evenings to take off my makeup (except off my eyes). the silky, creamy gel texture encapsulates sebum and dirt particles and removes them without damaging the skin barrier – my skin felt fantastic!

after the cleansing I always need a moisturizer to make sure my skin doesn’t dry out. to be honest… I used the day cream both in the evenings and mornings and I bloody loved it! the composition of active ingredients of the lavera hydro effect day dream with an anti-pollution complex (of organic algae and natural antioxidants) slows down environmentally induced skin ageing – the result is just dreamy.

I used the hydro effect serum as well as the face mask only sporadically but you could definitely use the serum once a day (in fact I’m just to lazy to be bothered with a lot of products in one day…). but even if I didn’t use it daily I really liked the effect ❤

the result of using these products a couple of weeks long was me being super comfortable in my skin and >very< happy on my wedding day!

what is your daily skin care routine? I’d love to hear from you ❤

what’s in my bag

I’m handbag addicted.

this is how my husband would start this blogpost about me and my bags. I wouldn’t say it like this, I’d rather start like „I truly love the different shapes, styles and colours of bags“ – what, to be honest, means exactly the same but in a much nicer way to say…

I have got a lot of bags but I didn’t own one single backpack – until now. and the story of me buying it is funny and sad at the same time: me and my boyfriend (it was the week before the wedding) went shopping and I saw these beautiful sandals – he absolutely >hated< them! as I was walking around the shop, wearing the sandals to try how they fit, I saw this cute little bag from David Jones and absoutely fell in love with it. as I already told you, it was the week before the wedding and everyone who’s already married knows, a wedding costs tons of money. so he knew I only wanted to buy one thing and he hated the sandals so much! therefore he told me how cute this backpack looks on me and how much he bloody loved it – so I went for the bag and left the shoes behind. later on he told me that he didn’t really like the backpack either but it just wasn’t as bad…

anyway – I got this very cute bag and I absolutely love it! it’s beautiful, high quality and very practical. now I wanna show you what’s in this beauty:

Fritzi aus Preussen purse
I bought this kind of purse >years ago< at Zalando and ever since then I never had another one. well I rebought it in different colours but always in the same style.
Fritzi aus Preussen is a German brand and I really love their bag and purse collection. they have the most beautiful colours and more shapes/styles you could ever wish for.

Samsung Galaxy S9
as a blogger my phone is always in reach. almost every photo on my instafeed is shot on my Galaxy S9 – the camera is absolutely brilliant and it’s so freaking fast > amazing!

my key are straightforward: house, letterbox, my parents house, office and bicycle. but whats more important: my key chains! both of them are presents from my husband – I got the lion king chain years ago for my birthday (he bought me tickets to see the musical) and the R2-D2 was a „middle-of-the-year-I-love-you-gift“. it used to have a lamp but it doesn’t work anymore and the colour is almost gone but I still love it so much.

Zoella make-up bag
this bag is, or to be honest, was super cute until I used it so much, took it everywhere and had it in so many bags. but still – it’s useful and the slogan is funny! in my make-up bag I carry these bits and bobs around: NARS tinted moisturizer in the shade Alaska, mini Hoola bronzer, mini they’re real mascara & ka-brow eyebrow cream-gel from Benefit, brush from Real Techniques and my all time favourite lipstick from L’Oréal in the shade 231.

ever since I started blogging my notebook is always with me. most of the ideas for my blogpost are in this book and I like to write my first thoughts about the topic in it. and maybe I should mention that I’m very oblivious – so that’s another reason to carry it around.

to be honest… there are A LOT of bobby pins, some tissues and quite a fair amount of dust and crumbs in it – but that’s just to embarrassing to share!

what are your bag essentials? I’d love to hear from you ❤

get to know me ¦ 18 facts about me

it’s already 5 months since I started my blog – I can’t actually believe it! so I felt like it was time to tell you a bit more about the person behind the food, fashion and beauty posts. my blog started at the beginning of 2018 – so here are 18 facts about me:

  1. I can’t sit still – I need to sing, dance or talk all . the . time
  2. I’m an early bird – I usually go to work around 6am and am perfectly fine with it. but at 10pm I can hardly speak properly because I’m so frekkin tired
  3. I love baking and cooking so much, my co-workers already complained about the amount of food I bring them to work
  4. every time I do my make-up, especially my concealer, I sing „Let it go“ from the film „Frozen“. it’s just because of the lyrics „conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know…“. and by every time I mean every . single . timeIMG_9044-01
  5. I like to have a lie-down before going to bed in the evening. this makes me feel relaxed and helps me to fall asleep very quickly
  6. I’m 3/4 swiss and 1/4 spain – but because of my hair and skin colour many people think I’m from Scandinavia
  7. I love brownies – in every possible variation
  8. my favourite character from Star Wars is R2-D2 – he’s so effing cute, isn’t he? I know it’s an „it“ but…IMG_9022-01IMG_9021-01
  9. as everyone keeps asking: my natural haircolour is blonde – on every photo on this blog my hair is natural with no colour
  10. I speak four languages: german, french, english and a little italian. I’d love to speak spanish, as my grandma grew up in Spain
  11. I’m the definition of being impatient – there is nothing I detest more than waiting
  12. I love taking a bath – even in summer I really enjoy itIMG_9009-01
  13. I don’t drink schnapps or hard liquor – with the little exeption of mojitos. but I do actually prefer a virgin mojito
  14. I hardly listen to swiss music but nevertheless my favourite song is a swiss song called W.Nuss vo Bümpliz. I love this song ever since I remember and mostly because of the orchestra like music
  15. I’m kind of obsessed with Coke Zero. I tried to stop drinking it (for health reasons) like a 100 times but it never worked out
  16. I LOVE christmas: from October to the beginning of January our house looks like Santa’s factoryIMG_9047-01
  17. I have this thing with stars in the sky – the infinity of the universe fascinates and scares me at the same time
  18. I’m always thinking about starting my own YouTube channel but I just don’t think I’m confident enough…

This is it – this is me!
are you curious about anything I didn’t mention above – I’d love to hear from you ❤

my all time travel essentials ¦ Oral-B & Gillette Venus

the last couple of months I was lucky enough to travel quite a lot – I’ve been to Verona and other lovely cities in Italy, made a road trip down the west coast of the USA, spent a few days at the beautiful beaches of Miami, traveled trough London and enjoyed beautiful Brighton. and as some of you will know and some of you might have noticed I was on honeymoon the last three weeks and enjoyed a wonderful and calming time in Bali together with my husband (still feels a bit weird to call him my husband!).

so when it comes to going away I tend to always take the same few products with me and as a lot of you guys have asked – these are my all time travel essentials:

first things first – snacks! I usually don’t really crave sandwiches a lot – but when I travel by train, car or plane I really love a good homemade sandwich and these are the ingredients of my favourite one:

Ciabatta bread, avocado, brie, dried tomatoes and plum jam. this sounds kind of random, but trust me! it’s the perfect balance between salt- and sweetness – I love it!

unluckily I suffer from travel sickness. every time I’m in a plane for more than 30 minutes I get a really bad headache and feel sick. to avoid this I found some very good medicine – the „Itinerol B6“ really helped me to get over the travel sickness. I’m sure there are other tablets that do the exact same – just ask the staff in your local pharmacy – they will advise you with the right one.

an other thing that definitely helped me with my sickness were my headphones. the BOSE quietcomfort 35 are truly >amazing<! the noise cancellation is insane – it continuously measures, compares and reacts to outside noise, then cancels it with the opposite signal: the plane noise is almost gone and you can enjoy the films or music in their full joy! another plus – they are super comfortable and the battery lasts about 20 hours. definitely a must in my travel bag!

the next two items I always take with me are more for the stay than for the journey. everyone knows it and I feel like everyone hates it (well I definitely do): shaving. with my cute little Venus snap it’s somehow a little less annoying. with five curve-hugging blades and a portable compact, you’ll be ready for anything, anytime, anywhere. I love the case so I don’t have to worry to cut myself when I get things out my washbag and because it’s permable to air it’s very hygienic. as all the Gillette Venus razors it’s easy to use and very smooth to the skin – one of my faves!

second beauty item is my Oral-B Genius toothbrush. with the unique position detection technology you will never miss a zone and it’s >so< easy to use. just download the app and start brushing your teeth – the app will tell you when to move and what to do. the rosegold colour is gorgeous and the case super handy – it even comes with a charger to charge it while it’s in the case!

these are my all time favourites to take with my while travelling – have you got any special items you take with you for a vacay? I’d love to hear from you ❤

this years favourites – so far!

I can’t believe it’s already April… this year is flying by like CRAZY! maybe that’s why it’s my first „favourites post“ this year (I know this is a >very< bad excuse – but hey I tried).

actually I discovered a LOT of nice stuff this year but I just couldn’t find the time to write about it and neither could I decide which ones to mention in a post. so I resolved to only feature a few items and make another favourites post (hopefully) once a month.

in this first favourites post I’m going to show you my fashion and beauty top choices – my food picks will be mentioned in a future post!

first things first: JOANIE CLOTHING! it’s a new and unique womenswear brand with fun, flirtation and femininity at its heart. I bloody love it! the colours, the shapes, the fit – it’s just amazing. they sell dresses, shirts, jumpers, glasses, bags etc. etc. and what I like most about this brand is that you can purchase these goodies from size 8 to 22 – lovely!

I ordered a bunch of stuff but my favourite items are the robot stripe top, the rattan basket bag and the Viola Gingham off-the-shoulder top. these were absolute bargains and the quality is amazing.

another one of my favourites so far is definitely the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette. the colours of this palette are INSANE: amber-hued neutrals – including warm browns, burnt oranges and rich siennas. From a super-smooth red-brown matte and a glimmering copper to a deep, shifty bronze, this palette has everything you need to create sultry daytime looks, intensely smoky nighttime looks and everything in between. my favourite shades are en fuego, ashes and dirty talk – these are the ones I mainly used for this look.

I know, with CHF 65.- (54£) this palette seems a bit pricy – but you get 12 highly pigmented, beautiful shades so it’s actually only CHF 5.40 (4.50£) per colour. in my opintion it’s worth it – they last for a >very< long time and look stunning.

lastly I wanted to show you something you shouldn’t miss out! the StylPro makeup brush cleaner & dryer – this is BRILLIANT. I am honestly shattered that I didn’t know about this for this long because now I couldn’t live without it!

it works with high-tech centrifugal spin technology to give your favourite brushes the equivalent of a trip to the dry cleaners, it leaves them completely dry so you can use them in seconds. I was really amazed by how fast this works and how good the result is. my brush collection only contains Real Techniques brushes – and because of the eight flexible silicone collars they’re all suitable for this cleaner!

have you got some new favourites this year so far? I’d love to hear from you ❤

lip products – my top picks

ever since I started to use make-up, lip products have always been my favourite part of it! even tough I >really< love these products it took me quite a long time to write this blogpost… over the past few years my collection has grown to a fair amount and that made it SO hard for me to pick my absolute favourites to talk you through.

let me start with something I discovered recently: lip powder! why didn’t I know this before?! this is an absolute game-changer! my two top picks in lip powders are the one from Artdeco and the Clinique one. they are weightless, highly pigmented, silky smooth and coat your lips in a lovely mat finish. for both of these powders I use a lip balm as a base then I apply the Artdeco lip powder with my fingers and the Clinique lip shadow with the sponge. it’s super easy and both of the products last for a loooong time – exactly what you want.

now to my all-time-favourite – the L’Oréal colour riche lipsticks are dreamy! they hydrate your lips, feel super nice, are easy to apply and they sell them in more colours than you could ever want!

I’ve got like a million different ones and love every.single.one. my every day pick is the „231 – Sepia Silk“ – it’s the perfect nude shade and goes with almost everything. if I had to choose one lipstick to have forever, I’d choose this one!

another favourite of mine has been the Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick; a smooth, lightweight lip colour that delivers a non-drying, high-pigmented finish. the velvety formula coats your lips with long-wearing, sumptuous colour that lasts forever. as you will know I am definitely a snack person – these lipsticks survive my snack attacks – absolutely gorgeous. they are available in various shades and I really love them all but the „08 – Rubi’s cute“ I cherish the most.

this is just a small choice of my everyday lip products – I could have written about this topic forever but these are the ones I appreciate the most.

what are your favourite lip products? I’d love to hear from you!

I finally like COFFEE (scrubs) ¦ BEANBODY

lately my blog and instagram feed have been a bit quiet – mostly because I treated myself with a little digital detox. my life has been quite busy with all the new stuff happening –  I’m talking about starting my blog and creating new (hopefully) interesting content every week. don’t get me wrong – I absolutely adore what I do and I am -oh so- excited for every single new experience! but sometimes you just need to take a step back and think about where you are, where you wanna go and what you’ve got to do to achieve these goals.

and this is exactly what I did the last couple of days: I pampered myself, took some days off of social media and discovered that I like coffee a LOT! not in it’s common way – I NEVER drink coffee and I don’t really like the taste of anything sweet with coffee in it – but what I definitely love is it’s smell!

so the new BEANBODY COFFE SCRUB was like a message from heaven! it smells >marvelous< is super easy to use AND >> all the ingredients are natural and organic.

it’s formulated to target dry skin, strech marks, cellulite and skin imperfections. and YES it does keep all the promises! I only used it for like three weeks and I can already see a difference – bloody love it! these are only a few of the benefits the product offers:

  • Caffeine will stimulate blood flow and help reduce the appearance of cellulite, eczema, stretch marks, age spots, varicose veins and psoriasis.
  • Coconut oil will hydrate & moisturise your skin.
  • Demerara Sugar & Himalayan Salt will exfoliate your skin, removing dead skin, acne, whiteheads, blackheads, breakouts & other skin blemishes.
  • Cocoa & Vitamin E are high in antioxidants which nourish & protect the skin, promoting cell repair & rejuvenation.

the body scrub comes in six different flavours for women and one man scrub. I only tried the coconut, vanilla, peppermint and manuka honey and I think they all smell divine. but my favourite, and that’s no surprise, is the coconut one. there is also one with mandarin and one with coco berry scent – I guess they all kind of work the same and only the smell is different.

the package contains 220g of coffee scrub and costs CHF 19.90 (£ 14.95) in swiss drug stores and online on www.clickandbeauty.ch and www.impo.ch. this sounds like a lot, but you can use it for quite a long time – so in my opinion it is definitely worth it.

all in all I can say this is a huge YES! it smells amazing, feels amazing, the price is ok and the results are just perfect!

have you got a favourite body scrub? I’d love to hear from you ❤
